this is my list of "lets ignore a customer" shops of today
1. Muffin Break - 6 staff, 1 other customer, totally ignored by all staff as they huddled round the ovens
2. Jesters - 3 staff, no other customers, staff were having a chat behind the counter totally ignored once again
3. Deli Section Woolworths - 4 staff, no other customers, took my number and waited, totally ignored yet again but all the meat is now very prettily laid out, obviously not for sale though.
The end result I left all stores with no purchases, morning tea was not bought, a treat for the boys was not purchased and my husband has to have tinned tuna on his sandwiches yet again.

I think customer service has been put out with the garbage. I was myself shopping today, noticing the amount of people who truely hate their jobs. they really can't be bothered. with the job or the customer. too many people these days are just too unhappy. what is it with that!?!
I hought I was the only one that had an 'invisible cloak'! I always tell my husband that I should be a mystery shoper because more often than not I usually get really crappy service! x
haha! I know exactly what you mean! on the other hand I was shopping this morning in David Jones department store in Newcastle and I had three staff ask me if I needed any assistance, all in a matter of 10 minutes!
isn't service dreadful these days! i used to work in retail and i get so annoyed in clothes shops where the sales assistants don't even say hello, even when there is not a single other person in the shop. makes me so cross! and then when you try something on and walk to the counter to buy it all of a sudden they are all friendly 'how did you go with that?' 'oh, you'd like to get that?' well, obviously seeing as i am standing at the counter, however no thanks to your help.
it used to mainly be retail snobby areas but it's spread and i've noticed it as well starting to happen to me at the food shops. epidemic! quick, call in the emergency services
Totally true that customer service is crap these days. I went shopping with all 3 kids on Friday and at one particular store i was at the counter before the sales lady waiting when the phone rang at the counter. She didn't acknowledge me but went ahead and answered the phone and then proceeded to talk for a good 2 - 3 minutes obviously to a friend, not a work call. All while I had baby Nate start up crying because we had stopped still and the pram wasn't moving. Tom stated at the top of his voice that I needed to feed baby Nate right now and I explained to him over baby's crys that no, mummy needed to be served by the very rude sales assistant that was ignoring her first. This prompted her to get off the phone quite quickly, but with no apology. Wont be shopping there again!
Service is not what it used to be - it's very frusurating when you go into shops with kids, want to get it done ASAP and staff are just chatting/gossiping, it's just not appropriate.
By the way - did not know you had so many shops out that way :)

Me again, had a friend in spotlight the other day with a little girl who was toilet training, she needed to go, asked to use the toilet and they said no, but you can go behind the skip bin out in the back car park!
Can you believe it!
Goodness what horror stories! and yes Jacqueline we do have shops out here in the sticks LOL. The shopping is actually quite good here in Kal would be even better if they wanted my money!
I had the opposite problem when the guy selling austar in the shopping centre tried to sell it to me twice about 10 minutes apart?? After the first time I told him it was rubbish you would have thought he'd remember me??? Clearly my face and my honesty is not very memorable!
