Walking the dog........

is not always a good idea when the dog is covered in mulberry juice, people tend to cross the road in order to avoid what looks like a blood covered dog.

Please accept my apology.......

Mr Bikerider.

It simply wasn't my fault, I wanted to put my pj's on but there was a large man, a small 3yr old & a spread out 15yr old cat on the bed. I had 2 options wake them all up by turning on the light for my pj's, moving the child & cat & the angst that goes with that OR sleep in said 3yr olds bed in my underwear & singlet & not bother anyone & not hear whingeing, crying, meowing etc. Yep I chose option 2.

Option 2 worked well for me until 4am when the cat wanted out the front door at 4am I wasn't too thrilled as it was still a little dark & there may have been strays about, however I didn't want the rest of the house woken up so I let her go.

Big mistake! just as I was drifting back to sleep I heard the mewling of a none too happy cat, in a panic I opened the front door expecting a furball to go flying past me alas no. So I tiptoe to the front fence in a half crouch whispering her name as loudly as I can in a not very happy way..still no furball. The street is dead quiet which is pretty good because at that time of the morning it is usually busy with mini buses full of miners heading to or from work, I peek over the fence & see a stray cat 2 houses down....dilemma! Do I step out the gate to look for my cat in all my glory or does my ego win?

Well just as I step out the flash of fur which is my cat runs past me back into the house, phew I think all good no harm done no one has seen me. However just as I go to turn a man cycling to work gets to witness me in all of my underwear glory. I do apologise to him but his bike was very quiet & maybe if he had a light which I do believe is the legal thing to have there would have not been the mutual look of horror passed between us......just saying!

A Surprise Visit.....

Here I am back in Noosa! My poor dad had complications during an operation stemming from his bowel cancer so I flew over to visit & help where I could.

Whilst here my mother & I have been sewing away madly (a good distraction!) & we decided to do one more market while I was in town. We met some lovely new customers & then a gorgeous little girl walked over wearing a dress that I had made 2years ago, it looked just as good as when I first sewed it up however it was now being worn as a top with capri pants. Her lovely mummy has been a wonderful supportive customer of ours for 3 years it really lifted our spirits.

Indi was kind enough to model some dresses that we made & I think she looks just adorable!
Thankyou Arana, Shane & Indi xx

A Superhero Turns 5......

A couple of weeks ago Eldest Sprout turned 5 & asked for a superhero themed party. I was over the moon & had visions of all sorts of goodies that I could make, firstly being superhero dolls for all guests until he informed me that these weren't cool for 5yr old's...I did make one for the table though!

He was quick to let me know only 3 things were very important to him....
1. Jelly which I made in jars in layers of red, yellow & blue

2. Macaroni & Cheese popped into some individual serves

 3. Ham & Cheese sambo's which I used a star cookie cutter to jazz them up a bit.

I made photo props out of cardboard & covered some boxes with paper for a city. The children flew through the air after changing into their capes & masks (which I was allowed to make!)  next to the telephone booth.

An afternoon of silly string & digital camera's (a bargain at $5 each from KMart) & the kids were in heaven.

Winter 2012.......

The 2 sprouts are in their pool & I am sitting in the shade of the mulberry tree mixing & matching some gorgeous fabrics that have arrived for the Winter 2012 range. I am really looking forward to bringing out a new range after having taking a break last season... my sewjo is back!
