Things that get my Goat aka things that give me the.......

Today I ran into a friends husband whom I havent seen for a couple of months while out shopping which was very nice, we had a little chat and off I went. I came home and told my husband who I had bumped into and what was said and I have been chewing over the exchange ever since. You see I was asked how business was going to which I replied I was very busy, he then told me I looked very tired which I had to agree to because I am! Trust a man to point out the obvious.

It was the next couple of statements that have got my goat, firstly that my husband and I dont have a life. Oh really and how is it we dont have a life, well its because Brennan works 2 weeks straight and then on his week off  he looks after the children for a few days while I sew. That equals no life.

Secondly because I work I dont go to all the morning teas, tupperware parties, make up parties, adult parties, candle parties etc etc to which I am invited to, whereas he informs me that because of this the women who invite me will keep 'bitching' about me.

Where is the respect for the work at home mothers??? Yes I am home but that doesnt mean I can drop everything to make up numbers for your 'party' and help you get a free gift. Yes my husband helps out on his week off and you know what if I didnt work I would still expect that of him he is the boys father. And lastly I dont want anything to do with a bunch of women that put you down when you aren't there.

I love my job and I love that my husband is supportive of me and yes we may seem boring to some or up ourselves to others but you know what we dont care :)

Good on you!! I'm the same, my hubby works late all week and then on weekends I work. We couldn't go to a dinner because I had orders to get out and I found out they were talking about me. My god, who bloody cares?? At least our kids are at home with us and not palmed off here there and everywhere. I work weekends when my girl has afternoon sleeps but we take her out in the mornings. People like that have no room in my life.

You have an amazing business that you should be proud of and a family you obviously adore. You do not need these draining, negative people, maybe the reason you haven't seen these people in a while is because you have moved on from them - and good on you.

I agree with Jodie. You don't need these people in your life. If you and your family are happy with your lives, then who cares what anyone else thinks.

Since when does looking after your children mean you have no life...your husband must love his week off that he gets to spend with his children, I know my husband would x

Don't let them get to you, I completely hear you and understand. I hate that the impression of working from home is cushie, when really it's a little harder....distractions and the children always come first. My days are house/kids then one they hit bed, i work, so it's all day and late nights. Hubby helps when he can, but with his own business just starting out, it's hard.

Let them think what they do, you know your better than that! I support you 100%!

who defines what a "life" is anyway! If they had one they were enjoying they wouldn't be worrying about yours!

sounds like you've got a pretty good set up to me!

I was getting cross just reading it. And sadly it is too familiar. I am a stay at home mum to five, I run my own business, and I keep all the paper work for mine and my husbands business.

I don't do the parties. I pass out at 8 in the evening.

But you know what, I do have a life. Actually I have too much of a life.

Don't listen to people like this. They is just jealous :)
